About Dream Vision Eye Care

Dr. Poon was born in Hong Kong and grew up in Honolulu. She has been in private practice since 1990, specializing in comprehensive eye care. She graduated from the University of Hawaii at Manoa with a BA in Biology, and attended the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree with honors. Dr. Poon is fluent in Cantonese. She and her husband have 2 children.

Dr. Tarumoto joined our team in 2008, but has been in private practice since 2001. She was born and raised in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received her BA in Biology at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and her Doctor of Optometry degree at Pacific University College of Optometry. Dr. Tarumoto is currently a member of the Hawaii Optometric Association and the American Optometric Association. She is a loving wife and dedicated mother of two. Her interests include spending time with family and traveling.

Edgar is our in-office Optician and is an original member of the Dream Vision Eye Care team. Born and raised in Southern California, he has been in Hawaii since 2005. Edgar is ABO and NCLE certified and licensed in the State of Hawaii. He is also fluent in Spanish. In his spare time, he plays drums for a local band. Edgar enjoys spending free time with his son.

Atsuyo is originally from Nagoya, Japan, and has been living in Hawaii since 2004. She is our liaison to our Japanese patients. Atsuyo is married with 2 stepchildren.
